Our SPT-IRF Revamp Project Team with Client’s representatives
at award ceremony for Safe & Efficient Work Performance
This SPT- IRF Revamp Project was awarded to Multiheight to provide scaffolding for the plant shutdown and revamp. The project location was at Pulau Ayer Chawan Refinery plant (Jurong Island) in the Sulphur Recovery Unit 1 & 2. It involved intense revamp and challenges with operating around within the live plant.
The scaffold construction commenced on 30th July 2008 and was completed on 19th April 2009. Due to the complexity of the plant and congested area, we faced many challenges to fulfill the demands for scaffolding from all trades such as lifting, removal of existing equipment, installation of new equipment, piping and electrical works. All these activities were carried out simultaneously and required 24 working hours on rotation.
The safety requirement was very stringent and expectation of standards from scaffold provider was high. The SHE committee program was implemented and the team leveraged on weekly audits and other observations to identify gaps and foster continuous improvement.
The project was successfully completed on schedule with no loss time injuries.
The Multiheight team comprising the Site Manager, Safety Coordinator, Scaffold Coordinator and the Scaffold Erectors was awarded the best contractor for consecutive few months of the project.
