Construction of New AO Plant @ Banyan Ave, Jurong Island
We were awarded the contract for provision of scaffolding service for the entire
new construction of the plant with a contract value of S$2.7M. The plant being a
chemical production plant was sited on a land plot of 25,200 square metres at
Banyan Avenue, Jurong Island.
Civil scaffold works including construction of the Administration building
started in end December 2007. Progress of scaffolding works started to peak in
October 2007 when structural works for the IRGAFOS IRGANOX and Metilox buildings
started progressing at a faster pace.
Schedule was extremely tight with a dateline set for all trades to be completed
by end December 2008. Being the only appointed Scaffold contractor company, we
had to provide our services to various trades including piping, E&I and equipment
installation at areas of works such as Battery Limits, Tank Farm 1 to 7, Pipe
Rack A to E, Link Bridges and loading bays area.
Our Site Manager, Scaffold Coordinator, Safety Coordinator and Scaffold
Supervisors worked closely round the clock with the Main Contractor's personnel
to achieve the schedule and despite all odds our team met the dateline and
completed all works with no loss time injuries (LTI). The Multiheight team
supervisors and scaffolders were respectively awarded the "Best Line Supervisor
Award" and "Best Safety Worker Award" for best performance and commitment to
safety awareness during the celebration of the 1 Million Safe Manhours tabulated
and organized by the main contractor Jacobs Engineering Singapore Pte Ltd.
